
Matt Symons
Founding Partner
Matt is a former professional rugby player with extensive leadership experience, notably serving as co-captain of the New Zealand Super Rugby team, The Chiefs. Matt concluded his rugby career with English side Harlequins, playing a pivotal role in their historic 2021 Premiership Final victory before retiring in 2022.
Matt began his post-sport career as a Consultant with EY before moving to the global real estate advisory firm Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL). Concurrently, he completed his MBA at the University of Cambridge, where his influential research on "High Performance Corporate Athletes" became the catalyst for founding MJS.
Deeply committed to mental health advocacy, Matt serves as an Ambassador for the suicide-prevention charity, Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM). He is also an accomplished speaker, regularly invited to share his insights and experiences with leading organisations and as a guest lecturer at the the University of Cambridge.
